F.W. Webb, a major supplier of plumbing and HVAC equipment, has opened a new store and warehouse in Central Islip, New York, on Long Island, and moved another location from Madison, New Jersey, to nearby Whippany. These are supply outlets that serve contractors and technicians, not retail stores homeowners would shop at directly, but they matter because they show where equipment and parts are being stocked in the New York metro area.
The Central Islip facility is a large, 143,000-square-foot site meant for quick pickup orders, and some staff from Webb's West Babylon, New York, location are moving there, with new hires planned too. West Babylon will stay open and is being renovated to expand its fire sprinkler fabrication work. The Whippany, New Jersey, location, at 27,000 square feet, replaces the Madison store and will carry plumbing, heating, cooling, and industrial supplies, again staffed partly by employees from the old site plus new hires.
Webb also has other projects underway nearby: an update to its Centereach, New York, location, new stores in Somerdale, New Jersey, and Middlebury, Vermont, and a move to a larger site in Queensbury, New York. None of this changes pricing or rebates for homeowners directly, but a bigger, better-stocked local supply network can mean shorter waits for parts and equipment if you're having heating, cooling, or plumbing work done in these areas.
