EVO Power and Ranial start nationwide battery and energy management service
Two energy companies, EVO Power USA and Ranial Systems, are teaming up to offer battery storage paired with smart energy management software to businesses nationwide. EVO makes battery energy storage systems, and Ranial provides software that uses artificial intelligence to decide when to store power and when to release it, aiming to cut energy costs and ease strain on the electric grid.
The partnership isn't aimed at homeowners directly. It's built for commercial and industrial customers. One example: a Toyota dealership with two locations in New York State added solar panels, EV chargers, and EVO battery systems managed by Ranial's software. The result, according to EVO, was an average 55% cut in the dealership's energy costs by storing solar power and using it strategically instead of pulling more expensive power from the grid at peak times.
For homeowners, this news mostly signals a broader trend: pairing solar and battery storage with smart software that automatically manages when energy is stored or used is becoming more common and more effective, at least at commercial scale. EVO says it has completed more than 125 storage deployments globally, some running over five years. While this particular deal doesn't offer a home product or rebate, it points to the kind of "smart" battery management technology that may eventually filter down to residential systems, helping households with solar and batteries get more savings from equipment they already have.
