Aggreko shifts Los Angeles service center to 100% on-site solar

July 8, 2026 · Solar Power World · Score: 24

Equipment rental company Aggreko has finished installing an 82-kilowatt solar array at its Los Angeles service center, making it the first of its facilities to run entirely on-site renewable energy. The site is now off the grid for its power needs, and the company expects the setup to save about $12,630 a year in utility costs.

This is part of a broader company effort to add solar and other clean energy to its facilities. Aggreko earlier this year completed solar installations at service centers in St. Louis, Missouri, and Bridgeport, New Jersey, and added solar panels to a New Orleans location last year. The company has also switched four locations, including its U.S. headquarters, to biofuel for internal fuel use.

This news is about a commercial company's own facilities, not a residential program, so it does not come with a rebate or incentive homeowners can apply for directly. But it points to the same math many homeowners weigh when considering solar: a mid-size system paired with on-site generation can cut or eliminate a utility bill over time. If you are curious how solar might work for your own house, the specific savings will depend on your roof, local sun exposure, and electricity rates, which will differ from a commercial site like this one.
