Panasonic Adds 2 Models to WhisperFresh IAQ Lineup

August 19, 2026 · ACHR News · Score: 48

Panasonic has expanded its WhisperFresh line of fresh-air ventilation systems, adding two new models, WhisperFresh and WhisperFresh Plus, alongside the existing WhisperFresh Select. These units bring outside air into a home mechanically, which is increasingly required as houses are built or sealed tighter for energy efficiency. Tighter homes hold in heat and cooling better, but they also need a controlled way to bring in fresh air, since air sealing reduces the natural leaks that used to do that job.

The new models are aimed at giving builders options at different price points. Both run on DC motors that meet Energy Star and Home Ventilation Institute certification standards, and both can mount horizontally or vertically in an attic, crawlspace, ceiling, or closet. They use standard 8-by-8-by-1-inch filters, sold at typical HVAC supply stores, so filter replacement should be simple. A paintable access door lets homeowners get to the filter easily when the unit is mounted flush with the ceiling.

The WhisperFresh Plus adds humidity and temperature sensors, intended to help in hot, humid climates where indoor air quality problems are more common. The top-tier Select model keeps its smart-home features, including optional Wi-Fi for app-based monitoring and control. All three models can connect with other Panasonic indoor air quality products, including its WhisperGreen Select fan and BalancedHome energy recovery ventilator, for homeowners who want one connected system rather than separate devices.

If you're planning new construction, a major renovation, or an upgrade to meet current ventilation requirements, this expanded lineup gives more choices depending on budget and climate.
