Kia EV3 is now on sale for under $30,000, and now we know its EPA range

August 11, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 32

Kia's compact electric SUV, the 2027 EV3, is now on sale in the US starting at $29,890. That base price is for the Light trim with a standard 58.3 kWh battery, which the EPA rates at 221 miles of range. Four other trims go up from there: Wind ($34,990), Land ($38,490), GT-Line ($43,490), and GT ($45,890). A larger 81.4 kWh battery option, offered as the long-range EV3, gets an EPA rating of up to 321 miles. All-wheel drive adds $3,200 and brings the AWD version's range to 280 miles on the big battery.

For a homeowner thinking about charging at home, the EV3 charges from 10% to 80% in about 29 minutes on a DC fast charger with the bigger battery, according to Kia. Every EV3 sold in North America comes with Tesla's NACS charging plug built in, so it can use Tesla Superchargers without needing an adapter. That's worth knowing if you're weighing an EV against your existing home charging setup or planning to install a charger.

Inside, the EV3 comes with a roughly 30-inch combined display setup, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, one-pedal driving, and vehicle-to-load capability, which lets the car power outside devices or equipment. None of this is tied to any rebate or tax credit news — it's simply Kia's new affordable EV hitting dealer lots, aimed at buyers cross-shopping the Chevy Bolt EV and Nissan Leaf.
