Hyundai launches the updated IONIQ 6 in Turkey with a sleek new look and 422 miles of range

August 6, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

Hyundai has redesigned its IONIQ 6 electric sedan and started selling it in Turkey and other European markets, but the update won't be coming to the United States. Hyundai has confirmed the standard IONIQ 6 is discontinued for the US market, so American buyers won't get this refreshed version.

The updated car gets a smoother, more modern look with a lower drag coefficient, which helps stretch its driving range. It comes with two battery options: a smaller 63 kWh pack rated for up to 323 miles of range, and a larger 84 kWh pack rated for up to 422 miles. Both use an 800-volt electrical system that allows fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes on a powerful enough charger. The interior also gets new tech, including a wireless phone charger and a curved dual-screen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In Europe, pricing starts around 45,750 euros (about $52,700), with a sportier N-Line version starting near $67,200.

For homeowners thinking about pairing an EV with home charging or solar, this news mainly matters as a sign of where EV technology is headed rather than a car you'll be able to buy here. If you're in the US and interested in this model, the news isn't all bad: Hyundai says the high-performance IONIQ 6 N variant is still on track to launch in the US by the end of 2026, even though the standard version won't return.
