Ford reveals Fathom EV pickup prices in the US and Canada

August 10, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 35

Ford has announced pricing for its new electric pickup, called the Fathom. In the US, it starts at $28,350, plus a $1,595 delivery fee, with pre-orders opening in early 2027. In Canada, it starts at CA$38,690, which includes a CA$4,000 federal rebate through the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program; pre-orders there also open in early 2027. Both prices are for the standard-range version and don't include dealer fees.

For homeowners with solar panels or backup power interest, one detail stands out: the Fathom will support bidirectional charging, meaning it can send power from its battery back into your house (called vehicle-to-home) or power other devices (vehicle-to-load). That could make it useful as a backup power source during an outage, similar to what some other electric trucks already offer.

Other features include a large touchscreen, a digital key, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and built-in Apple Maps with real-time EV routing and charging-stop planning. The truck uses Tesla's NACS charging plug, so it should be compatible with Tesla's Supercharger network. Ford hasn't released battery size or official range numbers yet, but expects the truck to get at least 300 miles per charge, though the cheaper standard-range version may fall short of that. More details, including range figures, are expected closer to the pre-order window opening in early 2027.
