Ferguson HVAC Sales Rise 11% Amid Mixed Markets

August 19, 2026 · ACHR News · Score: 48

Ferguson Enterprises, one of the biggest distributors of HVAC equipment and parts, reported strong sales for the second quarter of 2026, even though officials described the housing market as sluggish and the economy as uncertain. The company's HVAC division saw sales rise 11%, helped both by regular business growth and by Ferguson buying up other HVAC companies. Overall company sales hit $8.8 billion for the quarter, up 4.6% from a year earlier.

For homeowners, the relevant piece is what's happening in the residential market. Ferguson said U.S. home sales were "subdued," with weak new construction and soft demand for home repairs and improvements, though residential revenue still grew 2% for the quarter. Business from non-residential customers, like commercial and industrial buildings, was much stronger, up 8% overall, with particular growth in data centers and manufacturing facilities. In Canada, sales actually declined, with the residential market there described as especially weak.

None of this changes any rebate programs or incentives directly, but it offers a snapshot of the broader HVAC market: demand for home heating and cooling upgrades has been soft compared to commercial demand, even as the equipment supply chain itself keeps growing through acquisitions. Ferguson picked up several HVAC distributors during the quarter, including companies operating in Michigan, Ohio, and the Southeast, which could affect which brands and suppliers are available in those regions.
