BPA Board of Directors Announces Planned Leadership Transition
The Building Performance Association, an industry group focused on home energy efficiency, is changing leadership. CEO Steve Skodak, who has led the organization for six years, is stepping down as part of a planned transition. The board says the move is meant to position the group for its "next chapter" as it searches for a new CEO to lead going forward.
Skodak will stay on during the transition to help keep things running smoothly for members, partners, and staff. The board has not named a timeline for hiring a replacement or given details on what changes, if any, might follow at the organization.
This is a trade-group leadership change, not a shift in any rebate program, incentive, or energy code. It does not affect current weatherization programs, heat pump incentives, or other efficiency rebates homeowners might be using or considering. If you are researching upgrades like insulation, air sealing (sealing gaps that let air leak in and out of a house), or heat pump installations, this news does not change what is available or how to apply. It is worth keeping an eye on whether the group's new leadership shifts its policy priorities down the road, but for now there is nothing here that changes what a homeowner needs to do.
