The Kia PV5 is taking over Europe as the best-selling small electric van
This is news about electric commercial vans in Europe, not something that directly affects home energy upgrades in the US. But here's the gist: Kia's electric van, the PV5, has become the best-selling small electric van across Europe and the UK since launching at the end of 2025. It now makes up 37% of all small electric vans sold in Europe and tops sales charts in 12 countries, including the UK and Germany. In some countries, including Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, and Finland, it accounts for more than half of all small electric van sales this year.
The van comes in cargo, passenger, and chassis versions for business and personal use, and one version recently set a distance record, driving over 430 miles on a single charge with a full load. Kia is adding more variants, including a 7-seat passenger model, and plans to release a larger electric van, the PV7, next year, followed by another model, the PV9, by 2030.
This story is about commercial and passenger van sales overseas, not home energy equipment or rebates. It has no direct bearing on heating, cooling, insulation, or other home upgrades, so there is nothing here that changes plans for your own house.
