The Jeep Recon EV will launch in Europe, plus a new China-made SUV and more

July 2, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This is about electric vehicles, not home energy upgrades, so it does not affect any decisions about your house. But here's a plain summary for context.

Jeep confirmed its Recon EV, an electric off-roader similar in style to the Wrangler, will still launch in Europe despite a report suggesting otherwise. The Recon EV already went on sale in the US and Canada, and the European version is now set for early 2027. Jeep also plans to bring its Wagoneer S electric SUV to Europe, though details on that model haven't been finalized.

Beyond the Recon, Jeep's parent company Stellantis is planning three more SUVs for Europe. The biggest is a flagship model that will actually be built in China through a partnership with Chinese automaker Dongfeng, using Dongfeng's underlying technology, then exported to Europe and other markets. It will come in hybrid, fully electric, and possibly extended-range electric versions. Two smaller SUVs will also join the lineup, one compact and one closer in size to Jeep's Compass model. Both will run on Stellantis's new modular vehicle platform, called STLA One, which is built to support electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid versions of the same vehicle along with newer onboard software and tech features.

None of this involves home energy equipment, rebates, or weatherization programs. It's simply news about which electric and hybrid vehicles Jeep plans to sell in Europe over the next couple of years.
