That matters for Samsung's Texas plant, which has been trying to attract major clients. But chip design being finished and early production starting is not the same as full-scale output. Tesla has said it needs hundreds of thousands of these chips ready before it can put them into cars, and that volume isn't expected until sometime in 2027.
