RGNT’s 85 MPH retro electric motorcycle just got a scrambler makeover

September 9, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This isn't really home energy upgrade news, but here's the gist for anyone interested in electric vehicles: Swedish maker RGNT has added a scrambler version to its retro-styled electric motorcycle lineup. The Street Scrambler shares the same 46 kW hub motor as the existing Street Classic, with a claimed top speed of 84 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 3.9 seconds. What's different is a bigger 18-inch front wheel with chunkier off-road tires, a taller and wider handlebar, and more ground clearance, changes meant to make the bike more comfortable on gravel roads and light trails while keeping its vintage look.

Battery options are the same as the Classic: a standard 8.3 kWh pack rated for 86 miles of range, or an optional larger 10.1 kWh pack good for 106 miles. The battery is fixed rather than removable, and charging uses a European-standard Type 2 plug. The stock charger takes about four and a half hours for a full charge, while an optional faster charger cuts that to roughly an hour and a half, or about 50 minutes for a 20-80% top-up.

Pricing starts at €9,495, about €500 more than the Classic. The bikes are sold in Europe for now, but the company has said it plans to bring them to the US in 2027, with a starting price around $9,995. If that timeline holds, this could eventually be an option for US buyers shopping for an electric motorcycle rather than a car-focused EV.
