Otovo acquires Hawaiian solar repair brand
Otovo, a company that services and maintains home solar systems, is acquiring PV Hawaii, an Oahu-based solar repair and maintenance company. PV Hawaii has been around since 2016 and offers repair, warranty, and inspection services, along with panel cleaning, for both homes and businesses. It's certified to work on equipment from 10 major solar brands. The deal, which also includes a Norwegian company called Mr. Elektro, is valued at a combined $4.6 million.
For homeowners in Hawaii with solar panels, this means PV Hawaii's local technicians will now operate under Otovo, using a system called Endurance AI. This platform is designed to diagnose solar system problems remotely and send out the right technician faster, while also letting customers track service visits in real time. In practice, that could mean quicker repairs and less guesswork about when help will arrive if your solar system needs attention.
Otovo only entered the U.S. market as a solar maintenance brand less than a year ago, and this acquisition gives it its first foothold in Hawaii specifically. The company has been growing by buying up smaller, established local solar service providers rather than building crews from scratch. If you already have panels installed through PV Hawaii, this change likely affects who answers the phone and how service gets scheduled, though the local technicians themselves are expected to stay in place.
