New Interactive Tool Helps Create an Actionable eFleet Roadmap
A group called SACE has released a new online tool called the "Electrify My Fleet" Municipal Roadmap Generator. It's built for city and town governments deciding whether to shift their vehicle fleets—things like public works trucks or utility vehicles—to electric. Users answer a series of multiple-choice questions across six areas, from basic planning and vehicle selection to charging setup and long-term evaluation, and the tool produces a personalized PDF roadmap with tailored resources and links.
This isn't a tool for individual homeowners, since it's aimed at municipal staff managing fleets of vehicles, not personal cars. But it's worth knowing about if your city or county is considering electrifying its own vehicles, since that can affect things like the number of public EV chargers installed nearby or local policy discussions your town council might take up.
The tool doesn't store any answers on SACE's servers, so users need to download their results as a PDF before closing the tool or the information is lost. It was developed with input from city staff in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Coral Gables, and is meant to help local governments figure out what steps, funding, and infrastructure they still need before switching fleet vehicles to electric.
