Lectric launches lighter, lower-cost version of its bestselling urban e-bike: Lectric XPress Lite

October 13, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 5

This one's off-topic for home energy upgrades, but here's the news: Lectric eBikes has released a new commuter e-bike, the XPress Lite, priced at $1,099. It's a lighter, cheaper version of the company's popular XPress2 model, aimed at city riders who want something easy to carry up stairs or lift into a car. The bike weighs 45.6 pounds with the battery removed.

The XPress Lite runs on a 500-watt rear hub motor, an eight-speed Shimano drivetrain, and hydraulic disc brakes. It has a torque sensor (which adjusts power based on how hard you pedal) and lets riders switch to a cadence sensor (which adds power based on pedaling speed rather than effort) — useful for anyone who wants an easier ride or has limited pedaling strength. The tires come pre-filled with a sealant that helps prevent flats from punctures. The battery holds 375 watt-hours and is rated for up to 45 miles of pedal-assist range, though actual range depends on terrain, rider weight, and assist level used. It can be set up for Class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike operation depending on local rules.

The bike comes in four colors and uses a step-through frame design that makes it easier to get on and off. It's part of Lectric's broader strategy of offering lower-cost, lower-weight options alongside its higher-powered models, giving riders who mainly want an affordable commuter bike a lighter, cheaper alternative to full-featured urban e-bikes.
