Kia confirms PV7 debut and previews the larger electric van for the first time [Video]

August 31, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 16

This is news about a commercial electric van, not something that fits the usual home energy upgrade beat. Kia has confirmed it will show off a new electric van, the PV7, at a trade show in Hanover, Germany, running September 14-20. This is Kia's second electric van, following the smaller PV5, which has already sold around 39,000 units globally and holds a large share of the small electric van market in Europe.

The PV7 will be bigger than the PV5, built on the same underlying platform, and is expected to come in passenger and cargo versions aimed at business and fleet use rather than typical household driveways. Kia has not yet released pricing, range, or availability details, and the van is not expected to go on sale until 2027.

There is nothing here for homeowners weighing insulation, heat pumps, or rebate programs. If you are researching electric vehicles as part of a broader move to electrify your home and driveway, this van is more relevant to businesses and delivery fleets than to a typical household car purchase.
