Integrated Power Services acquires aftermarket solar inverter company Bold Renewables
A company called Integrated Power Services has bought Bold Renewables, a Colorado business that services older solar inverters (the devices that convert power from solar panels into electricity your home can use). The deal closed October 9th. Bold worked specifically on central inverters made by Advanced Energy under the brand names Solaron, NX, TX and PV Powered, handling repairs, spare parts, and routine maintenance.
This matters mainly for owners of larger or commercial-style solar systems using those older inverter models, since Bold supports about 14,000 of them across more than 3,000 sites in the U.S. and Canada, representing over 4 gigawatts of capacity. Bold holds the original manufacturer's design drawings, blueprints, and firmware for these inverters, which is often what keeps aging equipment repairable instead of becoming unsupported.
For most homeowners with a standard rooftop solar setup, this is a background business deal rather than something that changes your system directly. But if your home or property uses one of these older Advanced Energy inverter brands, the acquisition means service and parts support should continue, now under Integrated Power Services rather than Bold operating independently. Bold will keep its name and team, operating as part of IPS's renewable energy services group alongside two other companies IPS already owns, ENA Electronics and IPS Folcroft.
