Here’s our first look at the new Hyundai Tucson inside and out [Images]
This is car news, not a home energy upgrade story, so it has little bearing on planning improvements to your house. But here's what happened: Hyundai showed the redesigned look of its next Tucson SUV, the fifth generation of the model, which last got a major redesign six years ago. The new version is bigger in every dimension and has a boxier, more traditional SUV shape, along with a redone interior with a large center touchscreen and a new infotainment system called Pleos Connect.
Hyundai has not yet said what will power the new Tucson. The current Tucson comes as a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, and Hyundai suggests the new one will follow that same pattern rather than offering a fully electric version. If you're weighing a home charging setup against an EV purchase, that matters: Hyundai's electric SUV in this size class remains the separate IONIQ 5, not the Tucson.
There's nothing here about rebates, incentives, or charging equipment for your home. It's simply a preview of a redesigned gas-hybrid SUV ahead of its full launch, when Hyundai is expected to release powertrain and pricing details.
