Can-Am Pulse 2026 Review : Is the lower price enough?

August 24, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

This one is about an electric motorcycle, not home upgrades, but here's the gist for anyone curious. The Can-Am Pulse is a small, city-focused electric motorcycle priced at $10,999 for 2026, down as much as $3,000 from before. It undercuts rivals like the Zero S ($13,495) and LiveWire S2 Del Mar ($11,999). It's built around an 8.9 kWh liquid-cooled battery shared with other Can-Am electric vehicles, and it charges through a standard J1772 plug with a 6.6 kW onboard charger — good for a 20-80% charge in 50 minutes on a home-style Level 2 charger, or up to 5 hours on a regular household outlet (Level 1).

Real-world range came in around 140 km (87 miles) in city riding, dropping to about 80 km (50 miles) on the highway. The bike has no DC fast-charging option, which the reviewer sees as its biggest shortcoming — without it, long trips aren't practical, since a full charge takes roughly as long as an hour of highway riding.

None of this connects to home energy upgrades or rebates — it's simply a product review of a commuter electric motorcycle. If you're weighing an EV charger installation at home for a car, the charging speeds and connector type mentioned here (Level 1 vs. Level 2, and the J1772 plug) are the same basic categories used for electric cars, so the vocabulary may look familiar even though this particular vehicle isn't a car.
